UK replaces on-arrival Lateral Flow test with PCR and self-isolation
As part of its steps to try and deal with the new Omicron variant of COVID-19, the UK Prime Minister has just announced that all arrivals to the UK will have to take a PCR test within the first two days of arrival and self-isolate whilst they await the results.
Arriving back to the UK next week means that I have just booked a test on arrival, despite already having purchased and paid for a lateral flow test before I left.
This is designed to catch people with the new variant and so allow the UK Track and Trace system to contact them and their contacts, to self-isolate.
Apparently use of masks is also being stepped up on transport and in shops.
Red light! Green light! Red light!….why even bother with the UK. The potential to tie up/lose thousands of dollars at a moments notice is just too great. They want to burn their economy to the ground….let them.
What is the process if transiting through LHR on BA to/from USA?

Does that mean I dont have to order a lateral flow test now before I depart for England . I just order a Pcr test instead ?????
Yes that appears to be the case but wait until the start date is announced
