    Alaska Airlines has successfully conducted its first commercial flight powered by a blend of traditional aviation fuel and 20% biofuel derived from wood waste. This innovative approach, utilizing resources from sustainably managed forests in the Pacific Northwest, could significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, equating to the annual output of 30,000 cars.

    Alaska Airlines Fall Sale: Last Day to Check Bookings for Lower Prices

    Just a friendly reminder that today’s the final day of the Alaska Airlines Annual Fall Sale, which features flights starting at $64 across their entire route network. Each city has their own set of deals, but at least from rhe San Francisco Bay Area, there doesn’t appear to be any amazing deals to traditional vacation destinations like Mexico and Hawaii. However, there are pretty good deals to various West Coast cities, including Salt Lake City, Portland, and a couple southern CA cities.

    Alaska Airlines Adds Even More Southern California Routes

    Alaska Airlines had recently announced new routes between San Jose, CA and both Orange County and San Diego, and before those flights have even started, they are back at it again with even more new routes to Southern California. Today, they announced that 3x daily service between Sacramento and San Diego, as well as San Jose and Burbank, will begin March 16, 2017.

    Flight Review: Alaska Airlines First Class San Jose To Maui

    In recent years I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to the Maldives and the Seychelles. But while the Maldives and Seychelles provide ultra-exclusive island getaways, they also have the price tag to match, and are a 24+ hour journey each way from the USA. As beautiful and amazing as those destinations were, as I reflect on those trips, what I really walk away with is a renewed appreciation for just how lucky I am to have Hawaii in my backyard. From the West Coast it’s less than a 5 hour direct flight to the Hawaiian islands, and they are chock full of mainstream chain hotels to use points at. Also, since you’re still in the USA, it’s easy to drive around and there’s worrying about cell phone service.
